"About the real "Farm Raised" framed butterflies and insects we use"
All of the new insects for sale in the U.S. come from the same insect farms unless they are smuggled into the country illegally. There is a very small circle of individuals who import all of the insects brought into this country. We are good friends with all of them and they are glad to come to us first when they receive new shipments from the farms.

If you have ever visited a zoo you probably know that one of their main goals is to preserve endangered species through captive breeding programs.
The same is true with butterflies and insects for example in the 1980"s almost all birdwing butterflies used to be considered endangered but through captive breeding and the commercial sale of them, only a few are now considered endangered.
All of our Real Dragonflies & Real Damselflies are being bred in pools all over the world. In fact there are a lot of people in the US that are raising them in pools in their backyard.

Our goal for nearly 2 decades has always been to help provide these educational farms, aviaries and co-ops a real source of income. Our main goal is to support the people world wide who would otherwise have to sell trees off of their land or raise cattle which are both ecologically disastrous.

Tropical real butterflies and real insects are important members of these fragile ecosystems. If their natural habitats are allowed to disappear, then they to will vanish forever. Everything possible must be done to preserve them.

Butterflies and insects are all that we do this is not a part time venture or a weekend hobby this has been our full time professional commitment since 1992.
WE PROUDLY STAND BEHIND THE QUALITY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP OF EVERY PIECE THAT WE SELL.

~~~WHY ARE OUR FRAMES THE BEST YOU CAN GET?~~~
Our frames are made from solid natural pine wood grown in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Our Frames are particle board/formeldehyde free and the paints we use are certified low VOC and are a clean air formula with no petroleum based ingredients. The wood we use is from a local mill and the guy that runs it only collects trees that are dying from pine beetle infestation or from burn areas.
We have been and always are a green company!
We never contribute to landfills and ask that you please recycle our packaging and our recycled packing materials. Everything that is brought onto our land is 100% used up or recycled.
~~~WHY ARE OUR REAL FRAMED INSECTS THE BEST YOU CAN GET?~~~

~~While a nice frame like ours is important what really makes a "MUSEUM QUALITY DISPLAY" is what's in it. All of our insects are properly spread to meet "MUSEUM STANDARDS".

OF THE THOUSANDS OF DIFFERENT INSECTS WE SELL EACH SPECIES OF INSECT IS DIFFERENT AND MANY HAVE UNIQUE SUB SPECIES. THIS VAST VARIETY OF SPECIMENS REQUIRES A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO MOUNTING FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE TO BE PROPERLY PRESENTED. WITH OUR OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE INSECT TRADE PRIMARILY SPREADING INSECTS FOR MUSEUMS WE HAVE INDIVIDUALLY PERFECTED OUR SPREADING AND MOUNTING TECHNIQUES FOR EACH SPECIES WE SELL.

Our orb spider for example takes 2 days to properly relax pin out and dry. We relax and properly position and spread every insect we sell.

~~This is a lot of work but I think the end result is a much nicer look

~~Lastly, What is the most important thing to consider when buying framed insects? Will your new bug get to you in 1 piece? We have been shipping framed insects for nearly 20 years and have learned how to get them to you in 1 piece all the time. It's all about how they are prepared and mounted and not really how they are packed. We rarely ever have a piece arrive with even the most minor damage.

WE ALSO OFFER THE LARGEST SELECTION OF REAL FRAMED BUTTERFLIES AND INSECTS AVAILABLE IN THE U.S. We have thousands more insects available on hand that are not listed in our Etsy shop. Are you looking for something special? Just ask and we'll list it on etsy for you.
